Shaw Core Drill
 Chaltrek is proud to be the Canadian Distributor for the Shaw Portable Core
Drill. When carried in the Ostrom Outdoors designed Geologist pack, the
complete drill kit weighs approximately 40 pounds with ample room for all
the accessories, extra fuel and personal items.
It will allow the collection of fresh rock core samples at depths well below the
weathered zone of most rock outcrops and is portable, self-contained, easy to
use and fast drilling.

You can customize your kit from basic to complete. The typical
complete kit would include: engine drill, threaded lead and
adaptor, water supply system, three diamond bits, Geologist
pack, three stainless extensions, stainless t handle and core
catcher for a total of $2525.00 (U.S. dollars). To get you started,
the basic kit for $1190.00 (U.S. dollars) would include the engine
drill, threaded lead with adaptor, one diamond bit and the water
supply system. Add the taxes and shipping and you are ready to
retreive fresh clean samples.
This core drill was originally designed to go to depths of eight to
ten feet but we have seen it go well beyond this. The new
components have increased the endurance and stability of
deep drilling.

The 1.3 hp gear modified Tanaka 262 DH engine is surrounded by a roll
bar-like double handle giving you good two-handed control.
